The Night the Monsters Came was recently awarded as a finalist in the Children‘s Picture Book: Hardcover Fiction category in the 18th Annual Best Book Awards for 2021 sponsored by the American Book Fest. ⁣

I am so grateful for this award and share this with the super talented and amazing Lisa Ciccone. Lisa—thank you for making this book so fun with your colorful and playful monsters and for sprinkling the book with magic dust and whimsy! I‘m forever grateful. This one‘s for you! ❤️⁣

Jeffrey Keen, President and CEO of American Book Fest said this year’s contest yielded over 2,000 entries from mainstream and independent publishers, which were then narrowed down to over 400 winners and finalists. ⁣
